Intro

I'm into headphones again. And I do not mean the small in-ear types that go with the iPods and MP3 players but the real thing. Big and ugly headphones, the type that makes you look like bugs bunny. Why?

Well, first of all because I was pointed in that direction by someone last year. He told me that he bought a Sennheiser HD600 and a MF X-Can amplifier to listen to music when his wife was practising her singing lessons. At first I was attracted by the idea of building a tube headphone amplifier myself and so I built one. But it didn't take long before I realised the benefits of headphone listening: With two kids growing up, there is sound everywhere in the house: Watching television, listening to music (I think it is music they're listening too, not sure) and computer sounds from games etc. make it an impossible task to listen to music over speakers while kids are awake.
