Passive

As said, the first two weeks we listened to the passive amp. And I must say: There is nothing wrong with a passive preamp (only it's name: It does not amplify at all!)

Only, the impedance as seen by the cdplayer (or any other source) is not ideal: The resulting impedance is simply the impedance of the Geenkloon in parallel with the impedance of the attenuator in the passive configuration. So it is in the order of 15k, which is not ideal.

Active

Given all the pleasure we had while listening to the passive amp, I sure hoped that i would not be disappointed by the sound of the OPA627 Opamps.

But it plays for a few days (non stop) and I'm starting to believe in this setup.
